Louise Demartigny (Hume)

About the Author Louise is from Wakefield but has also lived in Birmingham and Paris before settling in Brighton. She has worked as a tour-guide, museum teacher, professional ironer, press officer, and on-tour merchandiser for a well-known band. She now co-runs 'Short Fuse' a monthly live short fiction cabaret night in Brighton which exists to champion the short story form while giving a platform to local writers. Passionate about writing in the community she has held writing workshops in theatres, museums and charity shops. Her work has appeared in magazines and newspapers, such as Herstoria, Jane Austen's Regency World, The Wakefield Express, the Royal Pavilion Review, The French Literary Review, Orange Slices (the award-winning fanzine of The Wedding Present), and short story and travel writing anthologies. Her first play was staged for three nights in Crawley's Hawth Theatre last year. She has just finished a novel, 'The Bomb That'll Bring Us Together', an adventure set in the 1980s alternative music scene.
